Match your seal with these 3 types:

Identify your seal by matching the parts highlighted in red.

Exposed Bellows

DOES YOUR SEAL MATCH?

The elastomer bellows can clearly be seen under the parallel coil.

If your seal matches this then your seal is an exposed elastomer bellows seal type.

Metal Encased Bellows

DOES YOUR SEAL MATCH?

The elastomer bellows are encased in a metal retainer.

If your seal matches this then your seal is a elastomer bellows seal type that is metal encased.

Exposed Metal Sleeve

DOES YOUR SEAL MATCH?

The ID of the seal is not entirely rubber. There is a metal sleeve visible at the rear.

If your seal matches this then your seal is a elastomer bellows seal type with an exposed metall sleeve.

What are elastomeric bellows?

The primary component in this seal category is a large, elastomer bellows. This is usually visible, but on some seals it is encased in various types of metalwork. Elastomeric bellows seals are designed so that all rotary components are contained with no loose parts that could potentially get damaged during fitting. All elastomeric bellows seals feature static sealing on the shaft that cannot cause shaft wear or fretting.
