Eagle Burgmann was formed in 2004 from the merger of Burgmann Industries of Germany and Eagle Industry of Japan. Burgmann Industries has roots dating back to 1884, when it was founded by Feodor Burgmann in Dresden, Germany. The company has been a pioneer in sealing technology, evolving significantly through the 20th century. Eagle Industry originated from the mechanical seal division of Japan's NOK Corporation, starting as Nippon Sealol Co., Ltd. in 1964.
