Inserted Face; Heat Shrink or O-ring Retained
The sealing face is a separate ring of material, usually CAR, SIC or TC, that is not part of a solid, monolithic head but is inserted and securely held with a heat-shrink process, or is retained by an o-ring.
Interference Fit (Heat Shrink) Face
The sealing face is a very tight fit into the metal casing. It is heat shrunk in and fixed in place.
O-Ring Retained Seal Face
The sealing face is held in position by elastomer o-rings.
